Lavender Fudge

Chocolate and Lavender are a match made in heaven – add a little sea salt too, if you like – or grind your lavender if you want to skip the straining step. Remember with lavender – less is more – Too much lavender tastes like soap.

  • 2/3 cup ( 5 oz) of Evaporated Milk
  • 1 1/2 cups of granulation sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons of Butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of culinary lavender
  • 2 cups of miniature marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 cups (9 oz) of semisweet chocolate chips

Directions 3 Steps

1)Line an 8 inch square baking pan with foil

2)Place Evaporated Milk and Lavender in a 2 cup glass measuring cup. Microwave on high for one minute. Cover with Saran Wrap and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain lavender milk into a saucepan. Add sugar, butter and salt. ( If you use salted butter, you can skip the added salt) Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Let boil for 4 minutes. Remove from heat.

3)Stir in marshmallows, chocolate chips and vanilla until melted and well blended. Requires some elbow grease. Pour into pan and refrigerate for 2 hours until firm.

Combine Sea Salt and Culinary Lavender in a grinder to sprinkle over the top once firm, if desired.

DIY Lavender Water Beads Diffuser

Super Easy – Here is what you need

Glass Container of your choice – ( a Mason Jar will do
Water Beads ( Find on Amazon or at your local craft store) 1-2 TBSP
10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
Tap Water 1-2 CUPS

Follow the instructions on the water bead package. Pour water over the beads in your container. Leave plenty of room in your container for the beads to expand. Let sit over night to expand. Add 10 drops of lavender oil and place in a location where small hands or paws can not reach.

Oil needs to be replenished about every 10 days. If you use a jar – put the lid on and give a shake – to keep the scent fresh.

Water Beads are water absorbing polymer beads. Generally you can expect to use about 1-2 cups of water for 1 Tablespoon of Beads – let them sit over night to expand.

While Water Beads are gorgeous and come in a zillion colors – they can be a hazard –

You can also combine essential oils to create your own signature fragrance – Search on Pinterest to give you ideas.

My personal favorite combination is Lavender & Rose Geranium or Lavender & Lemongrass. Add 5 drops of each.

Lavender Salt

Combine 1 Tablespoon of Culinary Lavender with 1/2 cup of sea salt. (You can also use Kosher Salt)

Grind Together with Spice Grinder. Store in a 4 oz mason jar – or container of your choice –

Sprinkle Lavender Salt on Seafood, Chocolate, Caramel or Fresh Fruit. Also makes a nice lamb or chicken rub

We use a Finamill – and keep the combination in one of the pods and grind as needed. Finamill is battery operated for one hand grinding with a light – so you can see your food –

You can also find glass spice jars with grinder tops that would fit the bill also.
