If your herbs are drying up in the drought – not to worry – you can easily create these sachet bags for your sweaters and blankets – I tuck one in with my winter wool hats too.
2 tablespoons dried lavender
1 teaspoon each of dried thyme, mint, and rosemary
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
5โ7 drops of rosemary, spearmint or peppermint, thyme, lavender, essential oil.
Optional
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons cedar wood shavings
Combine all the ingredients and spoon into sachet bags – Ta Da! – Youโre done! – The bay leaf and cedar wood shavings are effective – but I donโt care for the smell – so I omit.
Another match made in heaven. Lavender scented Epsom Salts. Combine with water in a bath or spray bottle for lots of benefits.

Early morning is best – wear your boots:)
You can keep fresh lavender in water for about 10 days- change the water every three days.
To dry – hang upside down in a dry space out of direct sunlight. Put a pillow case on the floor to catch the buds that may fall off while you are drying
May find a lot of disappointed readers with this title. We are talking about denuding lavender stalks and gathering the buds for sachets
Dried buds fall off fairly easily. Put a flat sheet under your work space. First shake bundles in a large ziploc or pillow case. Then roll and twist your enclosed bundle. Use a gentle touch. Most of the buds will fall off this way. For the hangers on, use your fingers or a detangling comb
Denuded stalks are great for campfires- and help keep mosquitoes away. You can also bundle into smudge sticks using twine
Donโt forget to pack a bye bye fruit fly sachet with your picnic
If you can fill a jar with dried lavender buds and stems and cover it with grapeseed oil – you can make your own lavender infused oil.
Fill an 8 oz jar with dried lavender – use the stems! – chopped into small pieces. We use mason jars. Fill the jar with grapeseed oil until all of the lavender is covered. Seal the jar and store in a warm dark place for four weeks = 28 days
After 4 weeks – strain the liquid through cheesecloth to remove the lavender bits and you are left with infused grapeseed oil that you can use as you wish.
Can be used as a massage oil, bath oil or skin & lip moisturizer. Add a drop to your cream moisturizer before applying
Our self serve stand reopens May 1st!
